this intimate collection of small works is inspired by my adventures in Charleston, SC, where architectural pastels and beachy warmth inspired my brushes. Whether city or beach, I found inspiration around every corner of my walks, and I wanted the joy and gratitude of change and rest to come through in my paintings. However, in many of these works, I was particularly drawn towards the contrasting, deep shadows - just as the shady past of this city was always on my mind, it was important to reflect that aspect in my renderings of its beauty as well.
