THE ASK:
simply bake, Upstate New York's newest micro bakery, had big ideas.. but needed a little help with recipe testing. while the oven pre-heated, they called me in to fold in some crucial ingredients: a logo, brand identity, website, and introductory social media strategy that will wow at the farmer's market.
THE ANSWER:
Tried and true, with just the good stuff. Inspired by.. well, simple bakes, we created an earthy yet crisp palette that warms the belly and soul. Paired with cozy, homemade bakes, you can practically smell the bread in the oven. Approachability was the key ingredient.
THE IMPACT:
Coming soon.
CAKES Tape™ by CAKES body®
February 2026
THE ASK:
CAKES body had a new, highly anticipated viral product ready to fly, and they were ready to go tits out.. I mean, secured.. for the launch. In a world of AI, they doubled down on supporting real life makers, and called me in to help with all things design for social content and eCommerce.
THE ANSWER:
When the world is full of the same old static, go back to the basics - in my case, a sketchbook and pencil! Through clips and stills of artistic expression, I created timeless illustrations of the products on real bodies, in real time. I also created basic contour sketches to illustrate their "hero hacks" while maintaining brand fluidity and model modesty.
THE IMPACT:
Graphics that stick grip! These assets were all over CAKES' social media campaign, and a constant reminder that real people are behind this product from inception to launch. The raw quality of the live sketches created intimacy with the consumer, and the "how-to" drawings were critical for a modest peak under the blouse - both securing skyrocketing sales.
