Commission
the
process
First off, I'm so honored that you've gotten this far, and that you're interested in learning more about commissioning a one-of-a-kind, custom piece. This is such a personal, touching part of my job, and I know it can seem a bit daunting.
Click here for a few tips and tricks to understand the process better.

your vision
cultivating
The first step of this process is deciding what you envision for your custom piece. This is the part where we set up the ground work, and collaborate as we think through the elements of your commission.
Are you interested in a portrait, a landscape, something else?

Do you have reference photos?

Where do you envision yourself hanging this piece?

What size is going to work best for that space and for the amount of detail your vision requires?

What mediums spark joy for you?
The options are endless, and I'm always open for trying something new! My most popular mediums are watercolor, ink, and digital, though I pull out my old acrylics every once in awhile. I am happy to send examples of my prior works (which can also be found below), and make suggestions based on your initial thoughts.

Any reference photos that you are able to provide are a huge help when it comes to coloration and details. That being said, I can alter or change tones without a problem - just talk me through which changes are important to you prior to the piece being started.
pricing
and approving your quote
Each of my custom works are priced based on size, and do not include shipping or framing costs, nor state sales taxes.

Commissions smaller than 8x10 in are priced at $30/hour + material cost. If you were thinking of a different size or medium, I can absolutely accommodate. Please inquire below with your idea, and I can calculate more specific pricing.

Standard size pricing below is for custom digital work, and includes the cost of labor and one one high-quality giclée print:

8x10: $120
11x14: $150

*giclée prints are printed on Hahnemühle Photo Rag 308gsm Matte paper.

Custom sizes may be available, but due to constraints of printing quality and small detail work, this may be case by case. Additional prints are available for an additional cost, please inquire about pricing in your custom work request.

Once we have settled the details, I provide a complete quote to you, which is set via email. Your custom quote will include the cost of the commission, any add ons you've selected, shipping, and taxes. Once you have accepted your quote, your commission is booked! A non-refundable 50% deposit is required at the time of booking.
putting pen or paint
to the paper
I am all about transparency with this process, and like to keep you involved as your custom piece evolves. Unless you instruct me otherwise, I will send progress photos along the way! My goal is that you are 100% satisfied with your commission, so this process allows for open communication about the artwork, therefore enabling you to have a say in what happens next or what changes you'd like to be made. (i.e. color changes, positioning, etc.)

The process is very personal, and therefore I take each commission and client through the process in a way that suits them best. I aim to ALWAYS make it work no matter how hard it is to decide what you may or may not want.

Final payment is due upon completion of your piece, and my shipping and pick up options can be found in my FAQs.
I can't wait to work with you!
